Mezzotint Rocker

A mezzotint rocker is used to prepare copper or zinc plates for the mezzotint technique.
The tool is used by holding it vertically and rocking it back and forth over the plate in a criss-cross manner until the plate is fully textured.
The textured areas on the plate ensure the ink adheres to the surface.
To create the final design, the plate is polished using steel burnishing tools.
For fine lines or details, durable steel engraving tools are used.
Not intended for carving or scratching.
