Custom size stretcher bars and canvases

At Creative works gallery ("Radošo darbu galerija") it is possible to order custom made stretcher bars for canvases and also mount them with your chosen type of canvas.
Our offered wooden subframes come in 3 types of profiles - with diagonal profile and profile with a rounded side that comes in two different sizes.

• Diagonal profile stretcher bars are made of 45 mm wide and 29 mm thick, sturdy wooden strips. For this type of underframe the cross section on the back is made of two (or multiple in case of a larger size) sturdy one piece, seamless wooden bars that provide the frame with needed stability and firmness. This type of stretcher bar is perfect for primed and unprimed canvases. These stretcher bars are loved by professional artists and conservators - restorers. The maximum size you can order is 3 x 3 m (before ordering take in account the size of canvases you want to stretch on so that the ordered stretcher bars are not too big). For transportation purposes the larger sized stretcher bars are only sold in parts and need to be assembled by yourself.
• Subframes with the rounded side profiles are offered in two different sizes - 20mm thick and 35mm wide, and also 28mm thick and 42mm wide. For these stretcher bars the cross section in the back is made of one seamless wooden strip and two smaller ones (or multiple in case of a larger size) that connect in the middle, because of that the back of the frame will fit smoothly to the wall, though is not as stirdy and stable. Stretcher bars with these kind of profiles are more suitable for already made paintings that need to be stretched on a new frame or primed canvases. For the smaller sized profile the largest possible size to make is 1,6 x 1,6 m and for the bigger one - 2 x 2 m.
